Non-Stretch Lace - Scallop edge - 65mm wide (2 5/8") - 2.5 metre length LIGHT BEIGE NUDE
view detailsA classic non-stretch scalloped lace in a soft light beige, supplied as a pre-packed 2.5 metre length. This is an elegant, versatile lace with a gently shaped profile that works beautifully for lingerie, garments and refined decorative trims.
The lace measures 65mm at its widest points and approximately 40mm at its narrowest. The top edge has a very gentle scallop, almost straight when applied, making it easy to sew neatly into seams. The lower edge features a deeper, more decorative scallop, giving a traditional lace finish without being overly ornate.
As a rigid (non-stretch) lace, it’s ideal where structure and stability are required, or where stretch fabrics are already being controlled by linings or stabilisers.

Sewing Tip: Creating a Sheer Lace Hem with Non-Stretch Scalloped Lace
This type of rigid scalloped lace is ideal for a sheer, elegant hem finish.
Prepare the hem
Leave the nightdress hem unfinished (no turning up). Press it flat so you have a clean, straight edge to work with.Position the lace
Lay the lace right side up against the right side of the garment, with the straighter, gently scalloped edge aligned to the raw hem edge of the nightdress.
The deeper decorative scallop should point upwardsPin carefully
Pin along the bottom (straighter) edge of the lace, ensuring the scallops lay evenly and the lace sits flat without distortion.Stitch along the scallop
Using a fine straight stitch (or a narrow zigzag if preferred), stitch by following the outline of the deep scalloped edge, sewing through both the lace and the garment fabric beneath.
Take your time here — this line of stitching becomes the visible finish.Trim away the fabric
Remove the pins, then carefully trim away the garment fabric from behind the lace, cutting close to the stitching line without nicking the lace.Press gently
Lightly press from the wrong side using a low heat and a pressing cloth.
The result is a sheer lace hem, where the scalloped lace forms the finished edge, giving a light, traditional lingerie look without bulk or turned hems.
