Information on suspender components - General

The grip is used to attach the stocking. The fitting may be of metal or plastic, and the pad is plastic with a plastic or cotton tongue. You need one grip per suspender. Many belts have only 4 suspenders, but 6 is considered better to keep the seam on the back of a seamed stocking straight. Some corsets may have more if the suspender is considered a feature. To allow the elastic on the suspender to lengthen or shorten a a slider or adjuster/regulator (more secure) is used. Ready made suspenders are available from the corsetry section.
